Man breaks into Gardner bank and salon, but leaves empty-handed

GARDNER, Kan. —  A bank and a beauty salon, both on Main Street in Gardner were broken into on Tuesday, but nothing was stolen.

The only loss reported from Metcalf Bank, 109 E. Main Street and Tres Chic Beauty Salon, 315 E. Main Street was the damage that occurred when the burglar broke in.

Surveillance video captured from one of the businesses shows the suspect is a white male with blond hair and a black scarf covering his face.

    Seems this stuff happens often . Impersonally watched edgerton bank get robbed in 2007 and didn’t even realize it. My business was a crossed the street. I helped identify the guy. I hope they catch this scumbag. People are getting more desperate with the continued downward spiral of the economy. Another reason I am thankful we can open carry in Kansas and protect ourselves. This is rural area, you know like the one Mayor Sly referred to. That’s another subject though. I’m sure KC gets robbed more. Lol
