KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police had to break up a fight among juveniles at J.C. Nichols Park near the Country Club Plaza Saturday night; a well-known issue that city leaders have tried to address with a curfew.

Officers cited 20 juveniles for violating curfew. Kansas City, Mo. police chief Darryl Forte said officers did not confiscate any weapons.

The video in the player above was taken after 10:00 p.m. Saturday, about an hour after curfew. The 9 p.m. curfew includes five entertainment districts: The Plaza, Westport, 18th & Vine Jazz District, Zona Rosa and downtown entertainment area.

Teens 17-years old and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The 9 p.m. curfew is in effect from the Friday before Memorial Day through the last Sunday in September.

Where are the parents? Until the parents get ticketed, nothing is going to happen here. This is ridiculous. I have 3 teenagers and I discourage them from going to the Plaza on those nights for that very reason. Will the Plaza become another place to not go to?

Maybe if the news got the actual facts on what happened that night. Or maybe if the Kansas City police department actually did their job and made a report this incident could lead to a arrest or a couple of arrests.

  • Walt Speaks the Truth!!!!

Old Sly needs to be about it instead of talk about it. And the Lazy KCPD needs to launch a massive round up of these Rude,Ignorant, hoodlums and hoodrats. The KCPD needs to set up a perimeter around the Plaza to prevent them from escaping. Locking them up until there parent or parents come and bond them out and arresting them as well forcing them to pay a cash bond only. Wont be long before one of these trouble makers gets a taste of reality when they mess with the wrong person and they end up dead or in prison and there family is blaming everyone else BUT THEMSELVES. Its Time WE STAND UP TO THESE SECTION 42’S AND MAKE OUR ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICTS ENJOYABLE AGAIN

Honestly these news stations need to report the true story. If you watch the video…did you see any police there to break up the fight? Nope. The officers on horses were called. But again the police did not write a report on the incident. Trust and believe the true story will come out
