Firefighters knock down pool pump fire

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Firefighters quickly knocked down a fire Monday morning in Overland Park, Kan.

Firefighters said around 6 a.m. someone smelled smoke in the area of 103rd and Benson and called 911. Firefighters responded to the area searching for smoke. They found the source and quickly put out a small fire originating from a pool pump in the back yard of a home.

The family was unaware of the fire at the time and were not injured.
