KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Police are looking for a rape suspect and the lead detective is confident this isn't the first time he's attacked someone. Police released several pieces of information hoping the public can help identify and locate the suspect.
Detective James Gunzenhauser says the victim, despite being brutally attacked, was an excellent witness and now you can help catch him.
The suspect is not someone police say is scary or intimidating at first glance.
"Very clean-cut, family man type of individual." said Det. Gunzenhauser
The victim was walking along I-70 near I-635 when a car pulled up behind her. The suspect was able to coax her into his car, an early to mid 2000's dark-colored Chevrolet Malibu.
"She told him where she needed a ride, he said, 'that's fine, I just need to be getting home quick, or else my wife's going to be upset,'" explained Det. Gunzenhauser.
She was at ease, until the suspect made a couple strange turns. She quickly realized something bad was about to happen. The suspect took her to an unknown location and raped her. When he was finished, the suspect drove the woman to where she initially wanted to go, but police say her nightmare didn't end there and the suspect could be looking for his next victim.
"One, I don't believe this is the first time he's done something like this and two, he's kind of continuing on with some of the victimization of my victim on this case."
"On his left bicep he's got a red devil with webbed feet, it's followed up with orange and red yellow flames that go around the body."
Police also say the car has Kansas plates. The victim said the last three numbers are either 917 or 971. If you believe you know who he is, call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
