KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police responded to a shooting near 34th and Central at about 4:25 p.m. on Thursday. A police dispatcher confirmed that the victim was shot multiple times, and a police spokesperson confirmed later Thursday evening that the victim died, and police are investigating a homicide.

Police say the victim is a black man in his mid 20’s and was found on a sidewalk. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

A witness who lives on Central Street reported hearing gunshots and saw a vehicle slowly driving down the street. The witness then said a man emerged from the car and shot the victim again, and another man got out of the car before both he and the shooter fled down Central Street. The suspects remain at-large according to police.
