KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police think home burglars making their get-away in two separate vehicles, crashed into each other on Bannister Rd. Friday afternoon.

Police saw an F-150 truck run a stop sign at Bannister and Lane. The driver then sped up to about 80 mph, according to police, and slammed into another car, which didn’t stop at the scene of the accident, but kept moving.

Police at first didn’t know why the car didn’t stop, as one normally would after an accident.

The F-150 driver continued going too, pulling into a gas station parking lot, where it hit another truck, causing it to crash into another car. Then, when the F-150 driver tried to leave the parking lot, the driver ran the truck into a police car. The officer suffered a head injury during the crash.

The suspect ran into a wooded area. Police went after him and captured him.  Police continue to look for the suspect in the other car that collided with the F-150, and who police believe is an accomplice in a home burglary.
