Christmas is nearly here! Are you stressed out about holiday shopping? Are you spending too much? A metro mom said she has the answer to taking the hassle out of the holidays.

Tracie Fobes is the creator of the, “Penny Pinchin’ Mom” blog. She started the blog after managing to pay off $37,000 in a little more than two years. Now, her presence online has grown to having nearly half a million followers on her Facebook page.

She said the biggest mistake we make over the holidays is we don’t plan, but she said she has the answer.

When it comes to holiday shopping, Fobes said checklists and spreadsheets can help keep you from overspending and pulling your hair out due to stress.

She has checklists for everything from a holiday shopping budget and gift lists to who she’s sent Christmas cards.

“Anything you can do for yourself to stay organized. Of course none of us think the same way, some people can just take a piece of paper jot it down they’re good, some people need more details, but what I love about a spreadsheet especially during the holidays is you can use it to cover so many things,” she said.
