KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A strange sight for commuters out early Friday morning on Kansas City's northeast side.

At about 7:06 a.m., police received a call about a truck into a building at Independence Ave. and Benton Blvd.

When FOX 4's Matt Stewart got to the scene, he learned the driver of the semi had just made a delivery to the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant across the street. The driver was not in the truck when it started rolling toward the building and then crashed into a party supply store called Yvette's Decorations.

The owner of the store was waiting until the truck was removed to see the damage.  An inspector from the city code department was expected to evaluate the building's safety.

No one was injured.
