KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Two are in custody following an undercover investigation into an auto theft ring and a pursuit late Thursday morning that ended in a wreck.

At about 10:55 a.m., police spotted two cars being driven erratically and tried to stop them near 63rd and Blue Ridge Blvd.

Undercover officers followed the vehicle that they say was stolen and the driver that wouldn't pull over.

The pursuit continued for about 25 minutes as the driver weaved in and out of traffic, apparently trying to shake the police officers.

“They were about halfway through the intersection, and I hit the tail end of them,” Todd Macrorie said. “I had a green light and I was glad I was driving a big truck because it was a pretty good impact.”

After that wreck, the suspects tried to run away but were quickly arrested near 79th and Wornall.
