OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- The Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks will meet in the first College Football Playoff national championship game Monday night.

There's at least one strong KC tie to college football's new Football Bowl Subdivision championship format. The logos for the CFP were designed by Premier Sports Management of Overland Park.

The format and new marks replaced the controversial Bowl Championship Series, which ended last year. The design of the new gold, bronze and stainless steel championship trophy was based on the simple yet distinctive logo which was created right here in Kansas City.
