Teenage bicyclist seriously injured in Grain Valley car collision

GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. — A 14-year-old boy attempting to cross U.S. Highway 40 near Kirby Road was hurt after being hit by a car on Monday. Police say the collision happened around 5 p.m. and the teenager was taken to a hospital with serious injuries by the Central Jackson County Fire Department.

The investigation is ongoing and a release from Grain Valley states the victim’s family has been notified.┬áThe condition of the driver wasn’t reported, and it’s currently unknown if they are cooperating with the investigation or face arrest.
