Police identify KCK man killed in shooting

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A man is dead after being shot early Friday morning.

Police identified the victim as 35-year-old Gerardo G. Jiminez, a KCK resident. Police said they responded to the scene in 2400 block of W. 42nd Ave after they received a call around 4:05 a.m. from a man who claimed his friend had been shot during a disturbance.

When officers arrived, they said the friend was trying to perform CPR.

Jiminez, who lived in the home,  was found dead at the scene, according to police.

Police said in a tweet that this was a homicide.

No arrests have been made, police said they are still talking with witnesses. The victims house was taped off while they continue their investigation.
