Vehicle stolen from Leawood home, suspect allegedly steals soup and crackers too

LEAWOOD, Kan. — A woman’s car was stolen from her garage Wednesday in Leawood Kan.

Police said the car was stolen around 10:45 a.m. in the 12000 block of Howe Drive. The victim and her husband were having renovations done to their master bedroom and work crews were in and out of the home all morning.

According to workers, they saw a man walk into the kitchen through the garage and help himself to the victim’s purse, where he got the car keys.

The man then walked back into the garage, got into the vehicle and drove away.

The suspect allegedly stole soup and crackers from the kitchen as well.

The workers said they did not recognize the suspect but said he walked with authority as if he belonged there.

According to the victim, there is a GPS tracker inside of the vehicle. The victim said she is working with police to locate the vehicle using the device.

Police are looking for a 2010 Lexus with license plate 534 CGM.
