SHAWNEE, Kan. -- For the first time since Jon Bieker was gunned down in their Shawnee store, "She's A Pistol", Becky Bieker talks to Fox 4. Bieker explains how his death is giving her strength to move forward and open the doors to the store.
Jon Bieker was shot and killed during an attempted robbery last month. Four men have been charged with first degree murder. Becky Bieker was also injured after being hit by one of the suspects but quickly recovered.
Bieker says some people would expect her to close down but a wedding ring she wears around her neck reminds her that's not what Jon would have wanted her to do. She will continue to help people learn how to protect themselves and not fall into the victim mentality.
"What keeps me going is the fact that I know four people tried to take my life, tried to take my husbands and unfortunately they succeeded," said Bieker, "I can't let them win so I will fight back. I will open the doors and I will make sure they do not get out on the streets and victimize this city ever again."
Classes at "She's A Pistol" have resumed. The store will reopen some new products and a new look by February 27th.
