Assault suspect bites officer during arrest in Raytown

RAYTOWN, Mo. -- Police arrested a man after he reportedly assaulted a store employee, and injured two officers during his arrest.

Before noon Saturday Raytown police were called to a store located in the 10000 block of 350 Highway, on reports a black male had assaulted an employee. Officers arrested the man in the parking lot of the business. While making the arrest one officer was reportedly bitten and another injured his back.

Both officers and the suspect were taken to a local hospital for evaluation. The suspect is currently in police custody awaiting charges.
