LOS ANGELES — Lady Gaga likely has many new fans Monday morning after her stellar performance Sunday Night at the 87th Academy Awards.

Lady Gaga was chosen to sing a medley of songs from the classic The Sound of Music, which came out 50 years ago.

The Sound of Music won five Academy Awards.

The newly engaged pop diva took the stage to perform the medley that included “The Hills Are Alive,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” and “My Favorite Things.”

Julie Andrews took the stage after the performance and formally gave Gaga her stamp of approval.

“Dear Lady Gaga, thank you for that wonderful tribute. Oh my God.”
