KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office is hosting a pancake breakfast to raise money to help Deputy Scott Wood pay for his medical expenses. Deputy Wood was shot at least seven times during a robbery at a KCK 7-Eleven on March 4 and is recovering from critical injuries.

The Wyandotte County District Attorney's Office is still awaiting forensic evidence results, but believe those may be available as early as next week. Charges may be filed after the results are received.

Deputy Wood has worked for the sheriff’s office for seven years, and has a lot of friends within the department and they wanted to do something to help.

You're invited to eat with them and help Deputy Wood. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 until 9 a.m. at the Wyandotte County Courthouse on 7th Street in downtown KCK.

They are suggesting a $5 donation. Trooper Wood's wife Staci is also scheduled to be at the breakfast. If you can't attend the breakfast, but wish to donate, click on this link.
