KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- More than 20 employers showed up to the Aim4Peace job fair Thursday.

Some of the employers include MODOT, Ameristar, UPS and Swope Health Services.

Universities such as UMKC and Baker were present for those interested in enrolling in classes.

"Aim 4 peace" is a violence prevention program that organized the job fair to help people who may struggle finding a job. The program said that in turn, it hopes an increase in jobs will help reduce violent crimes.

"It's really whatever opportunity they have for me," job hunter Nicholas Maize said. "I just want that. It's not really about I can't do this or I can't do that because there isn't anything I can't do. It's really just about having the job."

"Aim 4 peace" will host another job fair May 21st.
