KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Personal trainer Christina Larson and college student Lauren Bukaty stopped by the FOX 4 morning show to share tips on how to stay fit and eat healthy on the go. The two also shared a few of their favorite recipes that are a part of the campaign for National Nutrition Month.
1/2 cup oat bran
1/2 cup of Synthia 6 (protein mix)
1/3 cup liquid egg whites
Dash of cinnamon
Mix ingredients together and cook in waffle pan. Top off with berries for a bonus. It only takes 5 minutes for this fast, fun, family-friendly food.
2 chicken breasts
1/4 cup Italian dressing
2 tsp basil pesto
2 slices of fresh mozzarella
Red pepper slices
2 sandwich thins
- Marinate chicken in Italian dressing overnight.
- Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
- Place chicken on sandwich thins.
- Add pesto, mozzarella and red pepper to each sandwich.
