KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A seven-car pileup caused traffic to back up on southbound Interstate 435 Tuesday morning.

The pileup occurred just south of Gregory and north of 87th Street, near the 83rd Street interchange.

A few injuries have been reported, but police have not released specifics.

There is no word yet on what caused the accident either.

Many drivers were at a standstill due to the wreck because traffic was down to a single lane.

The scene was cleared around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

In Kansas City, Kan, multiple drivers also faced a dangerous and stressful drive to work when they encountered debris along I-70. Several drivers reported  flat tires from some kind of sharp debris.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near 110th Street were closed for crews to clean up the debris but has since reopened.
