14-year-old Clinton, Mo., girl dead after losing control of vehicle

HENRY COUNTY, Mo. -- One young person died and three others were injured following an accident Sunday night near Clinton, Mo.

Police said Raven Allison, 14, was driving at a high rate of speed around a curve near NW 251 Road when she lost control of her vehicle just after 10:35 p.m.

According to police, Allison over-corrected coming around the turn, which caused the vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway. Allison once again over-corrected after traveling off of the road, which caused the vehicle to then travel off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then overturned and Allison was ejected from vehicle.

Police said there were four people in the vehicle at the time of the accident, none of them was wearing their seat belts.

Allison was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police said the other three occupants, ages 14-16,  suffered minor injuries.  All of the victims were from Clinton, Mo., which is about 75 miles southeast of Kansas City.

Police said Allison was driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
