KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A woman was arrested Wednesday morning after driving the wrong direction on Interstate 35 and crashing into another vehicle.

Police said they received a call about the accident just before 3 a.m.

Police said the woman was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 and hit a tractor-trailer head on. The impact tore off the front end of the tractor-trailer's cab. It also caused a diesel fuel leak.

The accident shut down Interstate 35 near Pennway for nearly two hours Wednesday  morning while crews cleaned up the fuel leak.

No serious injuries occurred, according to police.

The driver of the Chevy Suburban was taking to jail on suspicion of drunk driving. Police did not release her identity.
