GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. – A Grain Valley couple was reunited with their cat after it was lost for two months.

Eric and Julie Davis were on their way to Arizona for a month-long vacation in February when Eric had a heart attack while driving.  Eric crashed the RV he was driving in Liberal, Kan. and caused a panicked Shadow to escape from the scene.

“We expected this big greeting and instead she was just kind of like hanging there like ‘you have no idea what I have been through,” Julie said.

Two months after the accident the couple got a call from a woman who lives in Amarillo, Texas who said she found Shadow on her farm. The couple drove down the next morning to be reunited with their pet.

“Since she’s gotten back all she wants to do is lie around and sleep,” Julie Davis said.

Shadow lost half of her body weight and all of the fur on the bottom of her paws, but her owners said she is the same sweet, loving cat she was before.
