INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — James L. Kinder, 49, was located Thursday night, according to Independence police.

Police said Kinder was located sometime after 10:45 p.m. in Raytown.

Kinder had been missing since the morning of April 20. When family members last spoke with him, he was believed to be at a home in the 4900 block of S. Milton Court at 11 that morning.

Family says that Kinder suffers from¬†schizophrenia, has the mental capacity of an eight-year-old and cannot care for himself. He is endangered and has not taken¬†medicine that he needs since he disappeared. He’ll likely be on foot and may be wearing camouflage boots, and either a green or brown Carhartt jacket.

He has been known to walk away from home, and has hitchhiked in the past, but returned within a few days after each occurrence. A news release says that he has a fascination with Ford Mustangs and often wears shirts with cars or NASCAR logos on them. Kinder has been found at Blue Springs Ford before.
