KCPD investigating after man found shot, killed in vehicle

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating after a man was found dead inside a vehicle on the city’s south side on Sunday afternoon.

According to authorities, officers were dispatched to the 11400 block of Bristol around 1:00 p.m. on a reported shooting. When they arrived, they found a white SUV in the grass near the intersection of Bristol and Longview Road with a single occupant—identified only as a male—dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

Police say that the shooting happened near where the SUV came to rest. They say that there were some initial indications that the shooting may have been a suicide, but now they are treating the shooting as suspicious.
