KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are looking for a man they said robbed and beat A 75-year-old man in his South Kansas City apartment. According to police, the suspect pretended to work for a cable company. It happened on the second floor of a complex at the Cloverset Apartments near 107th street and Wornall Road.

“That is extremely scary because you know these are supposed to be secure,” said Bianca Martin, who lives at the complex.

Police said the suspect knocked on the victim’s door on Saturday. When the victim wouldn’t answer the suspect claimed he worked for a cable company, then, police said he pushed the door open, held the victim at gunpoint and made him open is safe.

Police said the suspect began to yell that the suspect beat him with the gun. Martin and other people living at the complex said they wish the apartment management would have notified them about the incident, since the suspect is still at-large.

“I think they should put a sign up that says somebody was hurt in the building or in the complex, please be careful,” said Thirza Anderson, who has lived in the complex for three years.

Residents said the buildings are secure, and require a key to get in the main entryway. If you know anything, call police at 816-474-TIPS.
