KCK police investigate death of man found shot inside vehicle

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- KCK police are investigating a homicide early Thursday morning.

Police said the victim was found inside of a vehicle with gunshot wounds near 59th and Sewell.

The victim was transported to the hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries, but he was later pronounced dead.

According to police, neighbors called 911 after they heard shots around 1:30 a.m. and saw that the victim's small black car crashed into a truck.

Investigators are going door to door to look for witnesses. Police said they weren't sure if the victim was from the area or why he was in the area.

Police described the victim as a Hispanic male in his 20's or 30's.
