KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Authorities are investigating after a woman was found shot and killed in Kansas City, Kansas, overnight.

According to police, officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 2500 block of Ridge Avenue around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. When they arrived, they found the woman—identified only as a white female—dead in the the street from an apparent gunshot wound.

The identity of the victim has not been released pending positive identification and family notification.

There is no word on any suspects in the case at this point.
