OLATHE, Kan. -- Royals players spent their day off  battling it out on the golf course Monday as part of the Royals Charities Golf Tournament at Shadow Glen in Olathe, Kan.

"Most of the time it's a lot of sitting on the couch and really doing you know not much of anything because baseball season is a big grind ," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "But when you have  the opportunity to come out to an event as special as this it makes it fun for everybody to get out in the beautiful weather and play some golf.

Royals pitcher Wade Davis and third baseman Mike Moustakas were also present at the tournament.

"With the season I don't get to play as much as I like, and it's just fun to be able to come out here and support a good cause," Moustakas said.
