KCMO police investigate shooting that left one injured

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — KCMO police are investigating a shooting that happened Thursday afternoon near 56th and Prospect.

According to police, someone called to report the incident after hearing four shots fired. The person who called police also noted that they heard screeching tires and police sirens.

The shooting happened just after 2:45 p.m.

Police said one person suffered minor, non-life threatening wounds.

Investigators were on the scene trying to determine the cause of the shooting.

The identities of those involved have not yet been released.
