EL SEGUNDO, Calif.– For the first time in 56 years, Barbie is kicking off her high heels and putting on flats.

Mattel says a new version of the doll will feature adjustable ankles, so Barbie can wear either a high heel or a flat. The dolls will also be available in eight different skin tones, a choice of 23 hair colors, 22 hair styles and 18 eye colors.
