INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — The group behind a “God Loves Gays” billboard in Utah is working to put them up across the country, hoping to get enough donations to hang them in two Missouri cities and two Kansas cites.

KUTV reports a “God Loves Gays” billboard was recently put up in Orem, Utah. The next one is planned for Salt Lake City on June 14th.

The organization works on Facebook and from the fundraising website YouCaring.com.

The billboards simply proclaim “God Loves Gays” and show a smiling cartoon version of God. The listed organizer on their fundraising site is “Jehovah God.”

The “bio” on the Facebook page “The Good Lord Above” describes the himself (or herself) this way:

“Many of you know Me best for My Creation of the Universe and absolutely everything in it. I’ve also participated in 3000+ wars and have made what must be thousands of guest-star appearances on toast, pancakes, and several other breakfast foods. More recently, I’ve been spending a lot of time here on social media. You humans might be a huge disappointment, but at least you’re still interesting to watch.”

The God Loves Gays campaign says it hopes to get enough donations to rent billboards in Topeka, Wichita, Independence and Jefferson City, to display its message.

“The purpose of these billboards will be to show everyone that all humans are equal and loved by God,” according to the site’s description.
