SMITHVILLE, Mo. — Flooding across the metro is a concern due to all the recent rain, but in Smithville Lake water levels have already exceeded the 1993 flood level.

Water has risen above concrete barrier to cover a large portion of the parking lot at the marinas.  Some trails are impassible and a portion of the golf course is underwater as well.  That water is currently 10 feet higher than the normal level.

Lake officials encourage anyone who plans to go boating or fishing on Smithville to be aware of the increase in water levels.
