Kansas man pleads ‘no contest’ to his 16th DUI

EASTON, Kan. -- Stephen Sylvester Gast Jr., 60,  pleaded no contest to his sixteenth DUI during court on Thursday in Leavenworth County.

Court documents show that Gast has been driving drunk almost continuously since 1980. The maximum sentence for DUI under Kansas law is one year in county jail. Gast is scheduled for sentencing on July 22 at 11:00 a,m.

Easton, Kan. is in Leavenworth County, about 55 minutes from Kansas City with a population of approximately 250 people.
