KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- An Independence man, and father of five, died after an early morning crash on Wednesday. Police say the man ran a red light and hit the side of a police vehicle at 31st and Van Brunt, releasing dash cam video of the crash on Wednesday night.

Robert Gray Eubanks, 33, was the man killed. Friend Jason Juszczyk told FOX 4 he was riding alongside him, headed west on 31st Street when Eubanks collided with a KCPD van. Police say the van was traveling north on Van Brunt when Gray ran a red light.

Juszczyk said in an instant he lost his best friend, and had to witness it all happen.

“Everything. There's nothing you can't miss about him. I'm gonna miss him riding next to me. I'm gonna miss fishing with him. I'm gonna miss everything about the dude. He was my best friend. He was my brother,” he said.

Friends say Gray loved to work on motorcycles, and was someone they could all count on.
