LAWRENCE, Kan. — Four people were arrested Wednesday night on suspicion that they might be responsible for kidnapping and beating a woman in southeast Lawrence, according to LJWorld.

Police told LJWorld that they got a call around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday about a domestic violence altercation.

LJWorld reports that when police arrived at the home they found a woman who claimed she had been kidnapped and beaten with visible injuries on her face and other parts of her body. The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.

The report says that the woman was “beaten by several individuals and had her movements restricted.” The victim told police that she was able to escape late Tuesday when the people who had allegedly kidnapped her left the home. She was then able to get in touch with a relative and call police for help.
