KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Many people in the metro spent the day Saturday cleaning up what Friday's early-morning storm left behind.

Limbs caught up in power lines, trees atop roofs and cars, and 80 miles an hour winds damaged a lot of property across the metro.

Watch as FOX 4's Carey Wickersham reports how workers are making headway, but still have plenty to pick up, in the video player above.

Click here for info from KCMO’s 311 Call Center on their hours, storm clean up, and hours/info for leaf and brush drop off sites. Those drop off sites are at the following locations:

  • 1815 N. Choteau Trafficway
  • 11660 N. Main Street
  • 10301 Raytown Road

If you’re still in need of shelter, the American Red Cross has set up an emergency shelter at the Gregg Klice Community Center at 1600 Buck O’Neil Way. They can be contacted at (816) 784-1135.
