Wandering toddler reunited with father

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in Kansas City, Missouri say a child found wandering was reunited with  his father early Monday morning.

Police say they got a call around 6:34 a.m. from someone who said they found a toddler near 61st and Blue Ridge Cutoff.

The father of the two-year-old boy told police that he walked out of his apartment and was heading to pay his rent but forgot to lock the door.

According to police, the two-year-old boy was able to get out of the apartment and began walking around the parking lot, which is where someone saw the child and called police.

When the father of the boy returned home, he noticed police were there, and they asked if he was missing a child.  The father immediately realized he was missing his son.

Police say no tickets will be issued to the dad.
