Missing Lee’s Summit woman found safe

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — Lee’s Summit police say that a missing 85-year-old woman has been found safe.

Police issued an Endangered Silver Advisory Alert Monday morning for the elderly woman.

Shirley Latare was last seen near an apartment in the 1900 block of NW Cherry Street around 3:30 a.m.

Shirley is described as 5′ 5″ tall, 117 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Police said she was last seen wearing a short-sleeve, knee-length floral nightgown with white socks. She also could be wearing slippers.

Police say Shirley has COPD and does not have her oxygen with her. Shirley is described as being delirious for the past three days and has had issues speaking. Police say it is possible that she has onset of dementia.

According to police, Shirley walked away from her nursing home.
