Two arrested after KCMO bank holdup

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two suspects are in custody following a bank robbery on the city’s East Side Thursday afternoon.

According to the FBI, the suspects, identified only as two black males, robbed the Commerce Bank at 6100 Troost at gunpoint shortly after 2:00 P.M. on Thursday. Authorities say that one suspect, reportedly armed with a gun, robbed the bank while his accomplice waited in a vehicle in the parking lot.

The armed suspect was taken into custody by police without incident in the parking lot of the bank, while the alleged getaway driver was taken into custody a short time later by police in the vicinity of Rockhill Road.

There were no injuries reported in the incident. The identities of the suspects have not been released.
