LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. -- A major roadwork project is expected to begin Monday along Lee's Summit Road.
Even though the project will only temporarily closes Lee's Summit Road, the construction will have an impact on thousands of drivers. The closure includes NW Lee's Summit Road and NW Douglas Street between NW Colbern Road and NW Douglas Road, which is also known as the Douglas Street and Lee's Summit Road split.
A detour route will be posted via Colbern Road, 470 to 291 highway and Woods Chapel Road.
The project is expected to be completed in December 2015.
