KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Wednesday was a bloody night in south Kansas City. Two different shootings, at two separate apartment complexes have left at least two people dead.

The first happened when someone shot a man in the parking lot of the Cloverleaf Apartment Complex along south 71 Highway. Witnesses told officers the gunman ran off. So far no suspects are in custody in that case.

Then around 7 p.m. two people were shot inside of the Shadow Creek Apartments, off Bannister and Hillcrest Roads.

Both men were transported to the hospital, where one was confirmed dead, and police said the second man was in surgery as of 9 p.m., however that man’s current condition is unknown.
