Police investigate shooting after man suffers gunshot wound to thigh

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating a shooting that happened in KCMO late Wednesday evening.

According to police, the shooting happened in the 1100 block of E. 76th Terrace just before 11 p.m.

Upon their arrival to the scene, police located a male victim who was suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Police say the wound was on the inner portion of his left leg. The victim was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition.

The victim told police that he had been walking home when the suspect walked up to him and fired at him. Police say the suspect then fled on foot to a nearby vehicle and headed east away from the scene.

Police have not yet released a suspect description.
