KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Police are investigating after a man was shot and run over by a car near east 27th and Elmwood Streets in KCMO. According to investigators, there was a shoot out between two individuals. They said they are looking for the other person involved, who shot a man and then left the scene.
So far there have been no arrests in this case, however police say there were at least four witnesses at the scene.
Neighbors who live nearby said they heard at least 10 shots fired. They told FOX 4 children were outside playing in the front yard just a few houses down from the shooting.
"I don't want them growing up knowing any of this either because this is ridiculous," said Elishia Carter, who lives nearby and heard the shooting.
Police said they talked to five witnesses on the scene.
"This is the hood and there's a lot of kids around here that's playing and stuff I'm just telling them don't be gang bangers and stuff," said Carter.
"It's ridiculous that this type of stuff happens I mean the world is getting worser and worser by the day all the thing people need to do is just stick to themselves don't get in other peoples business what they need to do is just stay in their own lane and never be a witness to anything," she added.
The victim was in critical but stable condition as of Saturday night.
"It's sad because there's kids around and people just be going around killing each other," said Nate, another neighbor.
