PIKESVILLE, Md. — A Maryland teenager faces an assault charge all because of kissing one of his classmates.

The 13-year-old boy is accused of kissing a 14-year-old girl against her will at a school near Baltimore as part of a dare.

The boy has been charged as a juvenile with second degree assault, but some people in the community feel it’s a bit harsh.

“I would let the parents get together and discuss it, you now, rather than getting the police involved. Let the school handle it first and then if the parents want to press charges, then there’s nothing else that can be done,” said Ronnie McClain, a Pikesville resident.

On top of the assault charge, the boy could face more discipline from the school district.
