WYANDOTTE COUNTY, Kan. -- Officers gave the all clear Tuesday around 10: 30 a.m. after determining that a suspicious package found outside the Wyandotte County Courthouse was not a threat.

According to Kellie Baliff with the Wyandotte County Sheriff's office, the package was a white bag with a suspicious note attached. Baliff say she wasn't sure what the writing said, but did say it was found the same area as the package last week.

7th Street around the entire courthouse was blocked off while officers investigated the package. Robots were also called in to help officers determine what the bag contained. Shortly before 10:30 a.m. officers determined that the bag was not a bomb or anything deadly.

The courthouse still opened at 8 a.m., but Baliff says she thinks people will wait outside until they know more about the backpack that was found. Anyone who needs to visit the courthouse is asked to enter on main side along Barnett Avenue. No one will be allowed in along the side entrance.

According to Baliff, the 911 came from a worker who said they discovered the package.
