KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City police are investigating the city's latest homicide Tuesday.
According to officers, a city water employee working next door first noticed the body of a female in the 4400 block of Askew just after 9 a.m. Police say the body was outside of the rear of the residence near the back door.
Police identified the woman as 42-year-old Lacrisha Duff.
It is not clear if Duff lived at the home where her body was found.
The cause of her death is still unknown and police have not yet released a suspect description, but they did label the death a homicide.
Investigators say they are not sure how long Duff's body was outside.
