KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The people she helps call sister Bridget the "sunshine sister,” and they say they now want to spread a little sunshine to her day.

“I think what she does is outstanding,” Helen Prevost says, who nominated sister Bridget for FOX 4’s Pay It Forward award.

Sister Bridget works at the Women's Keeler Center. The Benedictine sister's mission is to help women in desperate situations.

“In addition to her work at the Keeler Women's Center, she also collects furniture,” Prevost says. “The purpose of that is to help women. They have been in domestic problems and women just getting out of prison and help them get started.”

Helen says she attends classes at the center in Kansas City, Kansas and couldn't help notice sister Bridget.

They call her the sunshine sister because she always has a smile.

“Just a wonderful woman,” Prevost says.

“I just try to help people who are in need and people are very generous, and they give me items to give to other people,” sister Bridget says.
