KCK aggravated burglary leads police on chase for suspects

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- One person is in custody and police are still searching for a second suspect in a KCK burglary that led police on a chase early Thursday morning.

Police say the chase started near 110th in Kansas City, Kan., as an aggravated burglary at residence around 3 a.m.

The chase continued along I-435 and finally ended near I-435 and Holiday in Shawnee, Kan., when officers put out stop sticks, which caused at least one tire on the suspect's vehicle to pop. The vehicle then went up a hill near Holiday and Wilder, crashed and caught fire.

According to police, there were two suspects inside of the vehicle during the chase.

Police say they have one person in custody and are still searching for the second suspect. The second suspect is described as a man who is wearing dark clothing and a dark hat.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt during the burglary.
