One person killed, one seriously injured in two overnight shootings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City, Mo., police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened early Wednesday morning.

Police say that around 12:15 a.m. officers were dispatched to McDonald's upon reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man in the parking lot. The man was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead.

The victim is described as a black male in his mid-20s.

A second shooting victim arrived at a local hospital around 12:30 a.m. The victim said he was shot near NE 48th and Vivion.  The second victim is listed in serious but stable condition.

So far, no suspect description has been released in either of the shootings, and police are not sure if the shootings are related.
